“A happy pet is one that is well-cared for and behaves when its owner wants it to.”

Kelly Stilson, the new owner of Waggin’ Trains, said she and her husband Dan have been the store’s owners for about a week and want to make sure their customers have content fur babies.  She said customers will find the same first-rate selection of food, grooming supplies, leashes, harnesses and other items for dogs and cats they are accustomed to finding at the store — with some additions.

“We have some great new toys and chews. It’s a one-stop shop for all dog and cat needs,” Stilson said.

Stilson is very excited about the store’s newest offerings — training classes. She plans to draw on her more than five years of training expertise and experience to offer obedience and agility classes and those that are more canine-sports related such as Treibball, Rally FreE and canine Freestyle.

Stilson said she became interested in training when she and her dog participated in a class taught by the former Waggin’ Trains owner.  “I took my first class at Waggin’ Trains nine years ago. The owner really sparked my interest to evolve into sports and teaching classes. It really has come full circle.”

The store is located a 1226 S. Second St. The hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Waggin’ Trains has a Facebook page and can also be found on Instagram.

Stilson said she is currently exploring future additions to the store’s inventory, noting she is looking into offering small animal supplies at the store if there is an interest.
